Here's why Brighton's Aaron Mooy was sent off at Aston Villa
Brighton's Aaron Mooy was sent off a little over half-hour into the Premier League match at Aston Villa.
The Aussie midfielder crashed into Jack Grealish to give referee David Coote no other option other than to send him off on 35 minutes.
The two bookings came just six minutes apart with Brighton still leading Villa 1-0 after an Adam Webster header at the back post.
There was no complaints from Mooy or Brighton following what was a mindless challenge on Grealish who appeared to be going nowhere.
Villa struggled in the opening stages and will be hoping the red card can spur them onto get back into the game.
But there was frustration when Conor Hourihane thought he had equalised only for his 'goal' to be ruled out by VAR.
Tyrone Mings received a classy claret and blue homecoming - after supporters unfurled a giant banner before kick-off .
The 3m x 3m tribute features Mings in his England kit amidst a claret and blue background with the word PROUD etched underneath.
The brilliant gesture has been made possible thanks to fan group Project B6 in the North Stand while supporters have been donating towards the design in their droves.
Mings, of course, was subjected to vile racial abuse on his England debut in Bulgaria on Monday and drew praise from his boss Dean Smith for the way he handled what was a truly awful situation no man or player should have to put up with.
Speaking this week, Smith said: "It did not surprise me. The fact he has come back here and trained and not said too much about it, I can only sing his praises.
